Parent Involvement

Partnerships between Parents and School is warmly invited and actively encouraged.

Parents can participate in a variety of ways such as on parent committees e.g. School Advisory (SAC), Parents and Friends or Sports Committee. Parents can assist by attending  Working Bees, help on excursions and swimming program, volunteer in the classrooms, or demonstrate partnership by attending information nights, parent teachers chats.

We are excited to invite parents to be guests at Learning Expos, and Celebrate the Learning concerts. We actively encourage parents joining us in preparation of Sacrament and class and school masses.

It is a legal requirement that under Ministerial Order 870 all volunteers working with children have a current WWC (Working With Children’s Card.)

School Advisory Committee

Our School Advisory Committee (SAC) is directly involved in the provision of school governance in the School/Parish. It offers informed advice to the Parish Priest and the Principal of the school. The School Advisory Committee advises on matters such as policy development, financial administration and education in which the School/Parish is involved. It is an advisory body, providing structure for discussion and policy development. Decisions of the board are subject to ratification by the Parish Priest in consultation with the Principal.

Parent and Parishioner’s Association

The Parents and Friends’ committee work together to raise money for the school and to organise social activities. This is achieved by enjoyable events for both the children and their families. A variety of fundraisers and social activities are planned throughout the year.  A welcome picnic and school sports carnival, children’s disco, parent social night, mother’s dinner, special lunch days and Mother’s and Father’s Day stall are just a few of the ways Parents & Friends work in partnership with the school. We are always excited about fresh ideas of ways our school community can work together.

Sports Committee

Our Sports Committee is another way parents can be involved in the school. This group currently made up primarily of fathers is also a fundraising group and help coordinate the School Sports carnival and picnic, Bunnings BBQ’s and assist the Parents and Friends with the Children’s Disco and Parent Social evenings. They also meet as a social group e.g. Golf days

Working Bees

A Working Bee Levy of $100 is charged per family however if a family attends a 4-hour working bee the levy is refunded. This can also be negotiated with other maintenance required outside of Working Bee days.
